Painted at The Pemberton, If You Happy Then I’m Happy portrays a joyful Black girl with a gold grill patterned with designs that spell out my name, “Just.” The work is about shared happiness and collective joy, while intentionally honoring Black culture and increasing representation in spaces where our stories and faces are rarely centered.
